This Week - November 19 - at the WCGM

THANKSGIVING!

Yes, friends.  Tomorrow is the day to get all your Thanksgiving accouterments for next week.  Think APPETIZERS, SIDE DISHES, MAIN MEAL and DESSERT.  Salsa and Pepper Jelly make for great appetizer fodder.  Potatoes, vegetables and bread are necessary for side dishes.  Turkey - need I say more?  And, of course, dessert!  Pies, fruit and hot beverages (think TEA) will be the perfect end to your evening.

If you need recipe inspiration, check out our recipe-riddled Thanksgiving post from two years ago.

Axel Linde, from Lindenhof Farm also has some great Turkey roasting resources on his website!

Don't forget Ellen April soaps and wares to bring as hostess gifts (or to spice up your powder room for guests!).

Chile Spot will be featuring their Sweet Red Pepper Jalapeno Jam which is ideal for your holiday table instead of or alongside your cranberry sauce.  This pepper jam is a great pairing with fresh or leftover turkey.  We'll also have the last of our fresh chile peppers and all your favorite unique chile pepper products!

North Star Orchard writes, “Gold Rush apples! Plus Winecrisp, Enterprise, and Reinette Simerenko apples. Plus, we'll have a great supply of Asian pears! It's time to stock up. Niitaka Asian pears in particular will keep for quite awhile in your fridge (Asian pears for Christmas, anyone??), and Gold Rush apples will keep for months. Really! Stock up this weekend to stave off the need for purchasing grocery store fruit. We'll also have a limited amount of Asian pear cider and varietal Gold Rush cider. We'll have an assortment of veggies as well. As for winter markets? We'll see what our supply looks like. There's a chance we'll attend a December market or two. Stay tuned to the market email for updates, and we'll see you this weekend at the market!”

Applied Climatology LLC writes: This will be our final weekend at the market this season!  All perennials and shrubs will be on sale this Saturday, plus we are offering an additional discount below.  We will return to the market in April 2012

End of Season Clearance Sale:

  • Spend $75 & get $10 OFF your total purchase

And as a final note, this will be the LAST market for Highland Farm, as Martha is retiring!  Check out our newsletter (to come later today) for a good-bye article to Highland Farm from Paul, our Market Director.  BEST OF LUCK!  We will miss you :)

Bundle up, grab your coffee, and head down to the corner of Church and Chestnut Streets tomorrow morning for a great and festive Market!
